Khemagita
Khemagita
Khemagītā came to the Dublin Buddhist in 2004 to learn to meditate. She was going through a difficult time and hoped that meditating would help navigate what she was experiencing. Not only did a meditation practice help, it also led to a growing interest in Buddhism, leading eventually to her ordination in October 2025. She is a Breathworks mindfulness teacher and a life coach. Much of her mindfulness teaching is with people who experience pain or long-term health conditions.
‘My initial attraction to Buddhism was two-fold. I was drawn to the claim that practicing the teachings of the Buddha leads to a reduction of suffering, and found this to be true in my own experience. I was also attracted to the ethical guidance provided by Buddhism, like a map to how lead a good life.’
‘These two aspects of the Dharma remain very important to me. In the years since I first learned to meditate, I’ve also come to appreciate and value the emphasis on connections and community and friendship that are one of the foundations of a spiritual life.’
‘I have deepened my awareness and compassion over the years of being Buddhist, towards myself and others, and have developed more courage and clarity in how I live my life and relate to others.’
Our Teachers
Our classes in Buddhism and meditation are in the most part delivered by ordained members of the Triratna Buddhist Order.
The Order consists of men and women who are themselves living a life of meditation and Buddhist practice, and have been for many years.
