“Where neither water nor yet earth
Nor fire nor air gain a foothold,
There gleam no stars, no sun sheds light,
There shines no moon, yet there no darkness reigns.
When a sage, a brahman, has come to know this
For himself through his own wisdom,
Then he is freed from form and formless.
Freed from pleasure and from pain.”
Join us for this festival day as we celebrate the Dharma, the teaching of the Buddha.
On or near the full moon in July every year we recollect and honour the Dharma. This is a joyous time for Buddhists worldwide as we remember that all our practices stem from the momentous moment that the Buddha’s experience of Enlightenment was communicated and understood by one of his followers. This happened in India over 2,500 years ago, however the Dharma continued to be expressed and understood again and again throughout history.
We look forward to seeing you there! Please bring along some vegetarian lunch to share if you can.
This event will also be available on Zoom. Please follow the link below a few minutes before 10am to join.
