[Fully Booked] The Vajra and the Lotus

October Sangha Weekend Retreat

Friday 25th – Sunday 27th October 2024

Led by Sadayasihi and Jnanadhara

In Buddhism symbology a vajra is the diamond thunder-bolt that cuts through reality and a lotus evokes spiritual unfoldment. The vajra epitomises the active dimension of our Dharmic practice and the lotus the receptive. Although one or other of these dimensions may be more attractive to us at any one time, we need both – and for them to be in harmony – in order to develop and to breakthrough into insight.

On this Sangha retreat Jnanadhara and Sadayasihi will explore the creative relationship between activity and receptivity as represented by these symbols – while invoking the mysterious and potent figure of Padmasambhava, the lotus-born Guru who also wields the vajra.

Join us this October Bank Holiday for a retreat in the serene Wicklow Mountains, where we will immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of Mucklagh and explore the Buddha’s teachings together.

The retreat will be led by Sadayasihi and Jnanadhara.

We asked previous retreat participants what the highlights were for them. They answered:

  • Meeting others on the retreat
  • The meditation
  • The walking meditation
  • The food
  • The chance to reflect and be in nature

All dishes are vegan, but don’t let that put you off. We’ve astounded by many omnivores on our retreats who admitted they had no idea vegan food could be so tasty and filling!

Every meal is cooked from scratch, and there is always enough for second helpings. No one ever goes hungry on our retreats.
