Emptiness and Fullness
A Sub-30 Seminar
Saturday 15th June 2024, 10am – 1pm
Led by Vajrashura
The doctrine of śūnyatā means not being attached anywhere, not standing or settling down anywhere, not depending or leaning on anything, or taking anything as a support.
– Sangharakshita
The Buddhist idea of śūnyatā is a mysterious and intriguing concept in Buddhism. It can be variously translated as emptiness, richness, suchness, fullness, mystery, even beauty.
It points to the fact that nothing can be pinned down, even our own self, our own mind. To dwell without pinning things down and to dwell in śūnyatā is to dwell in the profound mysteries of life.
On this Sub-30’s seminar, Vajrashura will explore this teaching of śūnyatā, drawing on teachings from both early and later Buddhism.
