Prayer Flag-Making Workshop
Culture Night at the DBC
Friday 18th September, 4pm-5pm
Led by Yvonne Emmett & Lindsey Holland
Prayer flags are colourful cloth rectangles traditionally strung along mountain ridges, peaks, and temples in the Himalayas. Inscribed with sacred mantras and symbols, they are used by Buddhists to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. As the wind blows, it is believed to spread goodwill and positive energy into the surrounding space.
Join us and create a panel for a prayer flag to celebrate 35 years of the hidden treasure that is the Dublin Buddhist Centre.
We’ll provide materials and a brief introduction to the tradition before inviting you to contribute a design, reflection, or aspiration of your own. No artistic experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to take part.
Spaces are limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
