Dharma Circle:

The Three Positive Qualities Part 2:

Reverential Awe & Supreme Confidence

An Under-30 Event

Saturday 14th November 2026, 1pm – 3.30pm

This seminar continues our exploration of three positive qualities inspired by the words from an ancient Buddhist text:

“Call forth as much as you can of love and devotion and of faith.”

We will focus this time on gaurava and prasāda.

Gaurava can be understood as reverential awe: the experience of encountering something vast, beautiful or deeply meaningful that takes us beyond our usual sense of self.

Prasāda is a kind of serene faith or gracious confidence — not blind belief, but a calm sense of trust that can arise when we encounter something genuinely worthy of it.

We’ll explore questions such as:

What experiences make us feel part of something larger than ourselves?

What might faith mean if it is not about certainty or belief?

How can trust and confidence grow through experience?

Together, we’ll look at how awe and confidence can help us become more open, receptive and grounded in practice. This will be an accessible introduction to Buddhist practice, with space for reflection, discussion and shared exploration. All are welcome; no prior experience of Buddhism is needed.

The session begins at 1pm and finishes at 3.30pm with a tea break in the middle.

The event is drop-in and free of charge, although donations are welcome.
