An In-Person Event

“Rise up, hero, victor in battle” – Ariyapariyesana Sutta

What are ‘the doors to the deathless’, in what way was the Buddha a ‘victor in battle’, what is ‘the noble path’? Prasannadeva will explore all this and more on this morning seminar for those 30 years and younger. The Ariyapariyensana Sutta is a Buddhist scripture presenting a biographical account of the Buddha’s noble quest from unenlightenment to Enlightenment. Full of poetry, symbolism and heroic mythical language, the Sutta presents the Buddha’s teaching in an engaging and impassioned manner that will inspire and challenge its readers.

Prasannadeva will be joined by Maitrishura who will be visiting from the Londond Buddhist Centre where he lives and works. Originally from Co. Kilkenny, Maitrishura first came along to the Dublin Buddhist Centre where he fell in love with the Buddha’s teaching and asked for ordination. He then moved to London where he joined the Men’s community living above the LBC. He was ordained last year in Guhyaloka in Spain, and his name means ‘The Hero of Loving-Kindness’.

All levels of experience welcome. No need to book in advance. Just show up for 10am, or you can come from 9.30am to have coffee and croissants beforehand!

All our Young Buddhist events are offered on a donation basis but you might consider making a donation to help us to continue to provide these kinds of events.
