SUMMARY:Transforming Work - Five Week Buddhism Course
DESCRIPTION:Transforming Work \n \n \n \n A five-Week Buddhism Course \n \n \n \n Starts Thursday 28th May 2026\, 7.30pm – 9.45pm \n \n \n \n Led by Sadayasihi and Varabandhu \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What will be explored? \n \n \n \n What's covered on the 5 weeks \n \n \n \n When and Where \n \n \n \n Course Leaders \n \n \n \n Who is this for \n \n \n \n Booking Information \n \n \n \n Booking Terms & Conditions \n \n \n \n \n \n \n For most people work is an unavoidable fact of life. Work makes people and breaks people. Work can be extremely challenging and is often where our values and ideals come into direct conflict with outside forces and objective demands. How can we meet these challenges meaningfully and effectively? How can we bring  Buddhist principles and practices into our work? On this 5-week course we’ll be developing an insightful attitude to work that will help us to be more genuinely creative and productive.  Rather than seeing work as a necessary evil we’ll see how we can embrace work as an opportunity to create positive connections with others and free ourselves from unhelpful habits.  								\n \n \n \n \n \n Over the five weeks we will cover:Week 1: Putting Ethical Principles into Practice at Work Week 2: Aspects of Mindfulness and Making a Case for Greater Simplicity Week 3: Buddhist Economics: Money and the Practice of Generosity Week 4: Getting Closer to Reality – Exploring Our Views Week 5: The Art of Communication and Going Beyond Utility \n \n \n \n \n \n WhenStarts Thursday 28th May 2026\, 7.30pm – 9.45pm | For 5 weeks WhereDublin Buddhist CentreUnit 5\, Liberty CornerJames Joyce StreetDublin\, D01 N5H6 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Varabandhu \n \n \n \n Varabandhu first came through the doors of the Dublin Buddhist Centre in March 2012 to learn to meditate as a response to suffering. He was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2021. Varabandhu worked for two years as a fundraiser for Future Dharma and is now working as a court reporter. He volunteers his time to teach at the Dublin Buddhist Centre so that others can benefit in the same way he has. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Sadayasihi \n \n \n \n Sadayasihi learned to meditate in 2007 in the Dublin Buddhist Centre while she was training to be a solicitor\, having had an interest in Buddhism since she was a teenager. She was ordained in 2016 and is current chair of the charity that runs the DBC\, as well as leading a study group and teaching classes. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This course is for anyone who wants to engage with a deeper understanding and practice of Buddhist teachings.
