Tossed about by these winds – gain and loss\, praise and blame\, pleasure and pain\, fame and disrepute – it is easy to lose all direction\, confidence\, and sense of purpose. The Buddha had clear guidance on how to rise above these ‘worldly winds’ – facing them uncompromisingly\, and entering through the ‘doorways to freedom’ that allow us to become equanimous in the face of them. He soon found that regularly practicing meditation positively transformed his mind and his life and in 2014 he became a committed Buddhist. Seven years later he deepened that commitment by being ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order. Varabandhu has been leading meditation courses\, Buddhist study and retreats since 2021. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Satyaprapta first came to the DBC back in 2006 and has been meditating ever since.
