Satyaprapta first came to the DBC back in 2006 and has been meditating ever since. He was ordained in 2024 and lives in the Men’s Buddhist Community. He works as a German Translator and volunteers at the DBC on the Support Team and Shubha Vihara Fundraising Team.Maitrikaya first learnt to meditate over 30 years ago and first came along to the Dublin Buddhist Centre in 2004 to reconnect with his meditation practice and to explore something that was both Western and Buddhist. He was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2011. Becoming Mitra Convenor for men in Autumn 2022\, Maitrikaya is inspired by the friendship that welcomed and kept him coming back to the Dublin Buddhist Centre and ultimately resulted in him being ordained. \n \n \n \n \n \n We asked previous retreat participants what the highlights were for them. They answered: A chance to escape the noise and complexity of modern lifeMeeting others on the retreatA simple life with a daily programme to followThe food!A chance to reflect on thingsGreat instruction on meditation Our retreats are known for being friendly\, inspiring\, and enjoyable. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n All dishes are vegan\, but don’t let that put you off. We’ve astounded by many omnivores on our retreats who admitted they had no idea vegan food could be so tasty and filling! Every meal is cooked from scratch\, and there is always enough for second helpings. No one ever goes hungry on our retreats. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The retreat is a brilliant way to deepen your meditation after the intro to meditation course. Restful and insightful. Highly recommended!   – Rick The most worthwhile thing I’ve done in a long time.   – Hugh If you want to get off the motorway of modern life for a while and park somewhere quiet to reflect and review the direction you are taking in your journey… A retreat with the Dublin Buddhist Centre can offer you a change of oil\, new spark plugs\, a cleaner windscreen\, tightened suspension and quite possibly update your Sat-nav so that you may finally know where you are going.   – Colin \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Mucklagh is an aproximately 90 minute drive from Dublin City Centre.
