SUMMARY:Mitra Ceremonies
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 11th March 2025\, 7pm – 9.30pm \n \n \n \n Led by Sadayasihi and Maitrikaya \n \n \n \n \n Join us for this special Sangha Night where the Mitra ceremonies of two men\, Michael Flanagan and Sergey Katsuba\, are taking place. A Mitra is someone who has made a commitment to practising the Dharma within our spiritual community. ‘Mitra’ is an Indian word that literally means friend. Becoming a Mitra is a deepening of friendship with the Triratna Buddhist Community\, which can occur when your commitment to its ideals\, values and practices have reached a certain level. This involves a commitment to Buddhism\, to practising the Buddhist path as taught within our tradition\, and to the Triratna Buddhist Community as the main context for your practice. Becoming a Mitra is a significant step in our spiritual lives\, so it is witnessed in a public ceremony. It is a special event at the Buddhist Centre\, and to which many people invite their friends and family. All are welcome to attend to celebrate and witness this deepening commitment. (If you’d like to know more about becoming a mitra\, you can read this document online A Guide to Becoming a Mitra in the Triratna Buddhist Community.) Join us on Zoom (passcode if required is medandpuja). \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Location: Meet at Drumcondra Library\n \n Address:\n \n\nMeet at Drumcondra Library\, Millmount Avenue\n \n \n Drumcondra\,\n\n Dublin\n\n D09 PT78\n\n Ireland\n\n\n\n\n + Google Map \n\n\n \n Phone:\n \n (01) 817 8933 \n \n\n\n \n View Venue Website \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Add to calendar \n \n \n\n \n \n \n Google Calendar\n\n \n iCalendar\n\n \n Outlook 365\n\n \n Outlook Live\n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n The Way of Metta: The Radical Power of Kindness - Five Week Course \n\n\n \n \n Living in an Alive Universe - March Sangha Weekend Retreat \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n SEE ALL EVENTS
