Change Your Mind: Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation

Tuesday 19th October 2021
7:00pm - 9:00pm

Led by Jnanadhara and Prasannadeva

A five-week online course exploring the path of Buddhism and Meditation.

As covid restrictions ease we may notice that we do not respond to the changing circumstances in a straightforward way. Perhaps we are resistant to the opening of society and fear what these changes will bring? Or maybe we dive headfirst into what the new freedoms permit only to find we don’t get the satisfaction we were expecting?

The Buddhist approach is to recognise that to free ourselves, we need to recognise that happiness and fulfilment ultimately come from within our mind, not from external conditions. And that to free ourselves we need to change our mind so we can respond to the flux and chaos of our surroundings with creativity, calm and resilience.

On this five-week online course we will explore how Buddhist teachings and practices enable us to make this change. Central to the course will be a thorough introduction to the practice of meditation.

The course is based on the book Change Your Mind by Paramananda and you will need a copy of this book to do the course. It can be purchased online from Windhorse Publications in either paperback or in ebook format.

Windhorse Publications have kindly offered a 10% discount on the book for anyone signing up to this course. Just use the discount code CYM_G3N8C2MX when purchasing the book from their website. You can get a further 10% off if you register an account with them.

Suitable for: anyone who would like to learn about Buddhism and meditation

This course will be run on Zoom. All our online events are offered for free but please consider making a donation of €100 for the 5 weeks to help us to continue to provide classes in this way.
