Art of Reflection Buddhism Course

Tuesday 14th January 2020
7:30pm - 10:00pm

Led by Vajrashura & Sadayasihi

An In-Person Event

When we learn about the Buddha’s teachings or start to meditate, we can be very inspired by what we hear. We want to change our lives in line with this, and live in a better way.

This can be an inspiring, exciting process!

But this knowledge doesn’t always translate into our lived experience, as we all too often fall back on old, uninspired ways of being, in particular when times are tough.

Reflection

Reflection is the vital key in bringing our aspirations deeper into how we emotionally relate to the world.

By thinking well, by reflecting, we can bring what we’ve learned from the head into our heart, into our bones even, so it naturally informs our sense of purpose in and understanding of the world.

How We Think

Reflection explores how we think, in particular how to think usefully, especially thinking on the Dharma. Reflection is an art, and like any art, it can be learnt and developed, leading to a deeper understanding of life and to the fullness of wisdom.

A Five Week Course

This course, led by Vajrashura and Sadayasihi, will explore reflection on the Buddha’s teachings as a spiritual practice, what we think and how we think it. It will explore contemplation and insight, and how reflection can be a way to discover and see for ourselves the truth to which the Buddha was pointing.

A copy of Ratnaguna’s book The Art of Reflection will be included with the course.

Suitable for: Anyone who knows the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana, and is interested in deepening their understanding of Buddhism.

Cost: €110 waged / €95 low-waged / €65 unwaged or student / €50 under-25 years. Runs for five weeks.
