In this five-week course, we'll be exploring how to creatively and effectively transform hatred into love through the metta-bhavana, a profoundly potent but frequently misunderstood meditation practice.

If you struggle with the metta-bhavana, or if you love the practice and want to deepen your understanding and practice of it, this course will offer new insights and approaches.

We’ll be starting with the fundamentals of what metta is as a lived human experience in the here and now, and then move towards the 'unlimited heart of friendliness' of which the Buddha speaks.

Suitable for anyone who has learnt to meditate with the DBC or another Triratna centre.

Cost: €100 waged / €85 low-waged / €55 unwaged or student.

Contact the centre or email us to book on.

Testimonials from Participants

'Sounds like a big statement but it is true...doing the Metta-bhavana will change your life!!!'

'I've discovered the metta-bhavana again but this time it's more fun and makes more sense in my life. Even if I miss it in my daily practice I see world around me in a different way.'

'Do it, you’ll love it. Your friends, family and those you find difficult will see a difference in you.'

'This course helped me to deal with some of my hang-ups with metta-bhavana practice. I've always found it a practice that’s equally challenging and rewarding and the course gave me the space to explore the practice in new ways. I would recommend it to anyone who loves and loathes the metta-bhavana.'

'I had ignored meditation for a long time. I had tried it earlier but the experience was never anything substantial. Then I decided to give it a try without any expectations (that is actually something I learned on the course) and it has boosted my well-being.'
