Book Launch by Paramabandhu:
Mindful Emotion: A Short Course in Kindness

Friday 12th May 2017
Starts 7pm
Book launch by Paramabandhu The Journey and the Guide

Paramabandhu was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 1990 and is Public and Private Preceptor in the Triranta Buddhist Order. He has lived and taught at the London Buddhist Centre for over 20 years, and was Chair of there for many years too.

He is the clinical director of Breathing Space, the health and well-being wing of the London Buddhist Centre, which teaches mindfulness meditation for depression, addiction and for carers.

He is also a consultant psychiatrist working in the National Health Service in Islington, London, specialising in addiction psychiatry.

He will be in conversation with Jnanadhara about the new book Mindful Emotion: A Short Course in Kindness, which he co-authors with Dr. Jed Shamel.

This book is all about kindness behaviour training (KBT). The authors have drawn on their clinical experience as well as Buddhism to develop a practical course in cultivating kindness, intended to complement and augment other mindfulness-based approaches.

They are now presenting this training in an eight-week course book. Amid the recent explosion of secular mindfulness, their aim is to re-emphasize the importance of the heart, introducing the reader to a variety of ways of approaching kindness-based meditation, as well as to how to put kindness into practice in daily life.
